1. Engine starts normally, idling in a condition. 2. About 5…6 seconds after starting idling goes low until about 500 rpm for 1…2 seconds. 3. After that engine’s idle increases to its norm. This happens independently of outdoor temperature and always when described precondition exists.

After 15k my diesel 1.6 sportywagon is now suffering from poor starting from cold. It's fine when starting warm so presume that one or more glows plugs have given up. I have booked in at main dealer for looking at but cannot do untill 24th May when a cutsey car will be available. Not a quick fix by any stretch of the imagination!
Cheap oils will clog the rings and cause exsessive oil burning. we took the gamble with one of our cars and ran it with oil additive, this can cause problems as it can block a oil way if engine is very carboned up. but did work after a few oil changes and no longer uses loads of oil, and engine breathes as it should.
